Places to See

Garrettstown is steeped in Marine History and the Old Head is of course our major local landmark. The lighthouse is spectacular as are the various signal tours on this area of coastline. The Old Head is now home to a world class golf course. Lunch or a pint in the Speckled Door is a must when visting the Old Head. 

Ballinspittle Village is a hive of activity most famous for its apparitions of Mary at the Grotto circa 1985. It's still attracting visitors to this day! Hurleys Bar is a good place for a pint and has excellent pub grub. There is a beautiful forest which is great for walks, mountain biking and horse trekking just beside the village more details here. 

Kinsale is just 6 miles from Ballinspittle / Garrettstown and is definitely worth a visit. Tuesday is country market day there. Check out Kinsale.ie
